Depending on role, job satisfaction can be excellent. Staff are mostly friendly and can be supportive of your needs. Again depending on role, dealing with customers can be a good laugh. Was this review helpful? Good company to work for. Its fun that a lot of people work there together and there are a lot if different roles within the company as well.
It'll be hard to find a better place to work. The team of co workers in IKEA make going to work almost seem fun. Customers can be a pain but what can you expect working in retail? They have been very flexible with helping me to work around my other commitments and supporting me through my personal difficulties. Christmas present in December.. Annual bonus and cheap food in staff restaurant. In terms of development, i feel when you're a capable coworker there are definitely opportunities to advance and grow within your position, or move to other departments.
Overall very, very happy at IKEA. Great benefits, good people to work with, flexible shifts, good pay. The benefits are great and get some great people to work with. Ikea are very flexible with shifts and understand other commitments college, uni, school. Manegment is god awful though, do not care for their staff.
Working in the Customer Services department. I was responsible for dealing with customer enquiries, returns, order checking, quality control on Kitchen orders and other general warehouse duties. Not really much opportunity for advancement but you can transfer from department to department. Employees have their own cafeteria where food is provided at a discounted rate. Worked from ; Great place, at least back then. Prior to my departure in , IKEA was a great place to work.
Plenty of hours with pay well above the average of most retail stores, and numerous co-workers, both management and lower-level, that was supportive in many ways. Company has changed in the past 2 years, nothing like it was.

Not the same great place to work. All the reviews online for this company are dated. They are restructuring the company again so not sure what pays will be like after that. Excellent company to work for! No stabilty in schedules. Small place with a lot of big fish.

No stability in schedules. Remote location makes for a long commute. Great co-workers and peers. Deal with a lot of customers on the daily basis throughout the store. There is always something to do in my department especially during peak season. Working hours are the same as store hours; however most positions are only part-time positions that average about 15 to 22 hours a week.

Schedules are not as flexible so it may be difficult to work 2 jobs at once. Since the company prefers individuals with more availability time during the busy season; when sales pick up. Working at Ikea was an overall good experience. Employees really valued store values and it was an inclusive work environment. I learned a lot about customer service while being there, my department took care of store events so that allowed me to expand on my communication skills and how to present myself professionally to clients.
There is always something to do at IKEA. It's a very productive workplace and many career opportunities. Working at IKEA is truly a great company to work for there is a lot of benefits that the company provides for their employees. Mangers are great and understanding. Teamwork is a great word to describe the foundation of IKEA. Great Management team, Christmas party, Christmas gift, co workers are great. They do not give you all the training needed in order to assist customers efficiently.
You learn on your own or from other co workers. Over all the job is not stressful. Productive and energetic place to work. The company is currently going through a lot of change "O4".. With these changes had come new learning experiences. Every day there seem to be new experiences uncovered, that you have to figure out on your own.
There is a revolving door for managers at Ikea.

New managers come in and are poorly trained. Then they see how poorly the call center is run and quit. If you have a passion for customer service and are looking to be a manager here, you are in for a terrible time. Don't waste your time. A day at ikea is like no other job i have held. It varies from day to do. Its retail work so be prepared for long hours and non stop customer interaction.
